The Practical Approach was founded in 2017 with one very clear goal in mind: to drive tangible value.
Our approach begins by gaining an understanding of high-level business objectives and translating them into projects with tightly defined scopes and expected outcomes. With deep roots in manufacturing, the LEAN principles are part of our DNA. Our methodology to carrying out successful projects involves five phases: Spell It Out, Structure, System, Solution, Sustain.
Spell It Out – We facilitate honest conversations about challenges. We coach teams on how to take away the emotion and discuss the fundamental changes that are required to improve.
Structure – It is critical to establish structure. Who is responsible for what? How and when is information passed between different teams? Where are efforts duplicated?
System – Regardless of industry, size and budget, organization’s need system to be successful. A system can be anything from pen and paper to a fully integrated EPR, as long as it offers a repeatable method of completing tasks and measuring success. Is there 1 systems or multiple systems in place? Are there additional things that are done outside of the system(s). How can we streamline process by establishing rules and leveraging automation?
Solution – There is no one size fits all solution that works for everyone. Through the first three phases, we are able to understand what is required to improve and are able to work with your team to develop and implement an optimal solution.
Sustain – Sustainability is only achievable when structure and system are established and when leadership is fully invested in the path to change. Accountability and reinforcement are critical is ensuring long term, sustained success.
